Thomas P. Kosmos age 72; beloved husband of Pamela Kosmos nee Wauchop; loving father of Tracy Kosmos, Thomas P. (Hara) Kosmos II. and Becky Kosmos; cherished Papa of Morgan and Madilynn; dear brother of the late Linda Smolik, Daniel (Donna) Kosmos, the late Jim (Penny) Kosmos, and Shirley (Steve) Martinez; fond brother in-law of Johnnie and Annette. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Tom retired from Container Handling Systems where he made life long friends, who he trained and mentored. He had coworkers that not only respected him but looked up to him. Tom loved working with his hands, woodworking and was a master of all trades kind of man. He was always ready and happy to help build any project, big or small for anyone that would ask of him. If no one needed anything of him, he would find something to build.
Tom was an avid sports fan. All Chicago teams were his favorites, he could even be talked into watching a Cubs game! He loved going to live games as much as possible, especially White Sox games. He cherished the times he was able to take his family to spend quality family time at the ballpark. His love for sports extended to his children and grandchildren. Missing a game was not an option for him. If he couldn’t be there in person, he had an app that played the game for him, and never hesitated to call to get updates as needed. When at the games he always made sure to bring plenty of cash for his kids and grandkids to spend at the concession stand!
Tom loved music, especially Rock N Roll! A love that he shared with all 3 of his children. It was not uncommon to walk in and see him jamming out to loud music with his beloved Tracy by his side jamming along. He could talk bands and music all night. Throughout his life he went to many concerts, whether it was big name bands or a local band at the local bar. He enjoyed a good night out with friends, family, and good music.
The single most important thing in Thomas’ life was his family. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for any of them. Spending as much time with his family was all encompassing. Not only his immediate family, but those that came into his life throughout his life. So many friends of his children and grandchildren he thought of as family as well. He was always there with a caring ear and some sound advice for anyone needing to talk. He was always there to support everyone he loved, he was always so proud and never stopped bragging about their accomplishments.
There was no greater love than the love he had for his wife of more than 50 years, Pam. Together they made a beautiful family, a family that cherished family just as much as him, and he will live on though stories they have to share.
