Marcelle Marie Jarasek (nee Englert), age 97, died peacefully at home. Her highest pride was her roles as wife and mother. She staunchly supported her husband, Charles, the love of her life from the first moments they met at Lindblom High School, through all the social obligations and decision making of his lifetime career at Talman Federal Savings and Loan that culminated as president and CEO. She was the loving mother of the late Charles P., the late James J., Camille (Jack) McNamee, and Mark (Nancy W.) Jarasek. Loving grandmother to Ellen (Rich) Phillips, James (Kristin Sage Rockermann) McNamee, Megan (Tim Wilson) McNamee, Charles J. Jarasek, Julie A. Jarasek and James P. Jarasek. Loving great-grandmother to Anna and Nora Phillips. Loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. Marcelle was devoted to her St. Bernadette parish community, serving as President of the women's Altar and Rosary Society and as a volunteer instructor for children's religious education. Her organizational skills served her when she chaired the major fundraiser in the 1960s for Mother McAuley High School. And even in her 80s she volunteered at Little Company of Mary Hospital, earning her 50-hour award, and for several years at the Village of Evergreen Park senior resource center. Marcelle was also an avid gardener. She won blue ribbons for her roses and Marcy's garden was a haven for friends in the summer. The Jarasek family lived in their Evergreen Park home for 63 years. Visitation Thursday 3-8 P.M. at Kosary Funeral Home 9837 S. Kedzie Ave. Evergreen Park. Funeral services Friday 9:30 A.M. to St. Bernadette Church. Mass 10:00 A.M. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
