James W. Smith

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our son and brother, James William Smith, 37, on January 26, 2025, in Chicago, IL. Born in Oak Lawn, IL in 1987, Jim was a graduate of St. Rita High School and Loras College before moving into his career with the IL Department of Corrections. Jim enjoyed hunting, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his father, Albert Smith, his sister, Melissa (Ray) Boyd, his brothers, William Smith and Thomas Ciezki, his nephews, Ray, Logan, and Caden Boyd, and his niece, Stella Boyd. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Peterson. 

Visitation Monday February 3rd, 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kosary Funeral Home 9837 S. Kedzie Ave. Evergreen Park.
