James Edward Platt

James E. Platt, Sr., retired L.T. C.F.D., age 81, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of the late Carol (nee Halloran). Dear father of Kerry (Sean C.F.D.) Flynn and James E. (Pam) Platt. Cherished grandfather of Gavin C.F.D., Patrick, and Liam Flynn and Juliet Platt. Treasured brother of Richard “Bitsy” (Dorothy and the late Maryann “Tuch”) Platt, Judy (the late Daniel) Carpenter, Theresa (the late John) Coglianese, the late Anna R. “Toots” (Ceil McLain and the late Chuck) Beckwith, the late Thomas “Tucker” (Rose) Platt, retired C.F.D., and the late Jo Anne (the late John) Beckwith. Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Thomas L. “Les” and Anna R. “Nina” Platt and his fond cousin, the late Catherine (the late James) Keys. Adoring uncle to his numerous nieces and nephews and a friend to many. Visitation Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Monday 10:00 a.m. from Kosary Funeral Home, 9837 S. Kedzie Avenue, Evergreen Park to St. Gianna Church. Mass of Christian burial 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
