Barbara Ann Soliday
Sadly we lost our Angel on April 2nd, 2024 after a long
illness. She is survived by her 3 sons, Shawn, Todd and
Jason. Her middle child was particularly smart and handsome
Barbara was a hard worker and was always willing to get
her hands dirty. She was a talented seamstress but was
not afraid to work on cars or anything else. She was
never known to be extravagant and reserved her time and
energy to making sure her family was provided for.
Barbara worked at US Steel in her younger years and
later on rose to become the personal assistant to the
owner of the Drury Lane Martinique. She then worked
for Amlings delivering flowers in a 1978 Checker Taxi
cab that her customers loved. She also worked for
Portillos Restaurants and was lauded highly for her
smile and personality. Laster on she furthered her
working career and talents and became and embroiderer.
After her dreams of having a family became a reality
she moved to Alsip Illinois into a modest house with
her Husband Ralph and their growing family. That house
would later include a dog, a large pool and awful neighbors
Barbara was at the helm of every moment of her family.
Although sometimes not ideal she drove a 1973 Chevrolet
Caprice Station wagon to get jobs done. Just like her
it kept moving on for as long as it could.
Barbara’s life was brightened by the birth of her first
grandchild, Juliet Soliday. She loved being a grandma
and was later blessed with 3 more. Violet lit up her
life even further and just when she thought she couldn't
love anything else as much as she loved them, along came
Scarlett who again changed her life. Her grandson Wyatt
came behind shortly after and brightened up her smile
She loved her grandchildren extremely.
Barbara put herself before others and put everyone first
even though she deserved to be #L. Barbara's memory will
forever live with the many people she touched, hugged,
and love throughout her life. God Bless you in this
next journey of your life.
Barbara was also a loving sister to Anthony and
Deborah Mazrim and a proud aunt to Jacqueline and
Melissa Mazrim. She was also a loving aunt to
another Jacquiline (common name apparently), Ryan
and Samantha whom she adored. She will be greatly
missed by all of us she touched. She was one of
the greats.
Laura and Ray Trusk have been and always been a part of
our family and were a rock to us throughout the years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her Father, Anthony
Mazrim and her mother Ann Mazrim whom she loved very
much. She was also preceded in death by a child, Brian
Soliday. God has your now. Jesus has you now!
Maybe you can alter some of those robes. They seem
to be dragging a little bit.
